late night snacks and morning bowl of oats!

Last night was a "later then usual night," but I got the chem problems finished, and today my main goal is to study for my economics and chemistry exams (tomorrow and Thursday night...) In order to keep me sane and awake, I munched on about a cup of Quaker Oatmeal Squares which was just what I needed since I had an early supper. The whole "eat every 3-4 hours" that I like making sure I follow never seems to get followed at nighttime because I'm not usually hungry after supper, but for those busy school nights, it's important to keep my energy up!

This morning I made a big hearty bowl of banana-nut oatmeal which was the perfect start to my day. The banana I used was huge, which made for extra creamy and smooth oats...yum!

Okay, off to work I go!! :)

Sarah-

You may have mentioned this is an earlier post, but what does your exercise routine consist of? Your crazy college life is very similar to mine and I wanted to get an idea of how you fit the physical activity in??

Sarah, I just now saw the comment that you left for me, on your previous post (sorry that I didn't see it sooner!!) - my favorite Larabar flavors are Apple Pie, Cashew-Cookie, Pistachio, Banana-Cookie, Gingersnap, and Pecan Pie. Yum! :0)

alex---Thanks so much for the kind comments! :)

swienick666---Random school schedules call for random exercise schedules! ha...here's the typical week of workouts for me:
MONDAY: 4 hilly miles walked, just going from class to class around campus (measured using google maps...hehe.) If it's nice out when I get home, I head out for an "unwinding" walk of about 2 miles.
TUESDAY: no classes! Which is when I take advantage of going out for a 4-5 mile run.
WEDNESDAY: It's a lot like my Monday, except I get home around 4:30, making for just enough daylight to head out for a 4 mile run.
THURSDAY: again, no classes! This is another 4 mile run...5 miles only if I didn't do a 5-miler on Tuesday and if the weather is perfect. :D Its hard enough getting myself out there in the cold, so I try to keep mileage lower until it starts warming up again!
FRIDAY---Rest day. Every other week I don't have chem lab though, which means every other week there's room for a run or a long walk.
SATURDAY: I look back over the week...if I fit in 3-4 runs, and feel like I want a rest, I'll just head out for a walk and take the day off. If I slacked a bit, or the weather was stinky and prevented me from heading out, I'll head out for a 4-miler.
SUNDAY: Today is my ultimate relax day. I'll go for a slow, leisurely walk, with the only purpose being to enjoy it (no speed walking!) On some occasions though, the weather is absolutely perfect, and I want nothing more then to head out for a run, which is when I upset the "relax rule." :)

Overall I try to run 3-4 times a week, depending on the weather. As you can see, I don't do much of a strength training routine, which is going to change starting this coming week as I set a new exercise goal for myself. :)

veggiegirl---Thanks! I'll have to check out those flavors then. Banana-cookie sounds delish...I think that will be my next flavor test. :D
